HISTORIES OF SHOOPMAN SUBMITTED BY COMMUNITY MEMBERS:

"Shoopman, KY was named after my Uncles.  My Dad and his brothers
worked for Stearns Coal and Lumber.  The area is known as Fidelity, KY and is
nothing more than some rose bushes and a graveyard.  Not much left to tell
the story of the area.  I hunted and fished this area as a child in the late
1960s.  You could see some foundation rocks where company houses once stood.
There is a pond that is still there but mostly mossed over." -submitted by James Shoopman (2018)

Notes:

Shoopman was found on 1927 Map of Eastern Coalfields of Kentucky located in the University of Kentucky's Special Collections, and the location was plotted from the paper map.
